Michigan police have taken into custody a mother whose toddler son was found stabbed to death earlier Wednesday.
Inkster police said relatives found the 3-year-old boy when they hadn’t heard from the mother in several days and went to the home to check on her, Fox 2 Detroit said.
Inkster police said the boy had stab wounds all over his body, but the mother was not in the home when they arrived, around 4 p.m. Police said she was believed to have left in an Uber, according to Local 4.
Assistant Police Chief Bill Ratliff said she was located at about 5:45 p.m. and was being interviewed, The Detroit News reported.
“We are continuing to investigate,” Ratliff said. “That’s all I can tell you.”
Michigan State Police are assisting the Inkster Police Department, Fox 2 said.
Inkster is a small town about 20 miles west of Detroit in Wayne County.
