A six-year old girl was stabbed while out for a walk with her father early Thursday morning.
NBC New York reports that the little girl was walking with her 55-year-old father on Manhattan’s Lower East Side at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday when a burglar jumped the pair. The suspect stole belongings from the unidentified man and stabbed the girl in the torso during the robbery.
The girl, who has not been identified, was taken to Bellvue Hospital, and she is expected to recover from her injuries. The victim’s father was not injured.
The suspect reportedly fled on foot, and it is not clear if authorities have a description. Police sources told the news outlet that they are continuining to investigate.
