When Los Angeles police arrived at a large and loud Hollywood Hills party Saturday night, they figured they would issue orders to disperse, per state and county orders in place aimed at stemming the spread of the coronavirus.
But a gunshot prompted the officers to call for back-up and be a little more cautious. There were, after all, about 100 people attending the house party at a short-term rental property that appeared to have been rented specifically for the party.
Turned out, the gunshot put an end to the party before the officers could do it. Seems one of the attendees accidentally shot himself in the groin.
Lt. Mark Chong said officers got the call about the party at about 11 p.m. The wounded man was taken to a hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.
Chong said the investigation continues.
