Hundreds of volunteers showed up Thursday to search for Issac Schroeder, a non-verbal autistic Ohio boy who vanished Wednesday. On Thursday afternoon, the boy was found deceased.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Isaac disappeared from the Fort Jennings area; he wandered away from home wearing only underpants at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police. By Wednesday night, the boy had not been found, despite searchers scouring along the Auglaize River, close to the boy’s home.
On Thursday morning, the search resumed at 7 a.m. Capt. Brad Brubaker of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday afternoon that the search for Issac had passed the 24-hour mark as over 900 volunteers showed up to search.
Within an hour of Brubaker’s announcement, the boy’s body was found close to the close to the Auglaize River.
