“When emergency personnel arrived they found a vehicle had exited the south side of the roadway and went down a steep embankment,” police wrote.

First responders rescued the suspect and child. Both were taken to the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center for treatment and subsequently released. Upon her release from the hospital, authorities arrested Nguyen and charged her with attempted first-degree felony murder.

Authorities have not said what circumstances led to the charge. The boy is now in the care of a guardian.
