Iowa police arrested a 19-year-old man Thursday after he admitted to “slamming” a 7-month-old child into a crib.
According to the Des Moines Register, the child was admitted to Blank Children’s Hospital on Thursday with a leg and skull fracture. Hospital staff alerted the West Des Moines police to a possible child abuse case because of the injuries.
Investigators interviewed the child’s mother as well as Cesar Emmanuel Corona Lopez, who allegedly admitted “slamming” the child, according to the criminal complaint.
Corona Lopez was charged with child endangerment causing serious injury and booked into the Polk County Jail with no bond, according to jail records.
The Register said there was no information on the child’s condition on Friday.
