A former friend of Ghislaine Maxwell, the 58-year-old British socialite in custody on suspicion of recruiting underage girls into Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking ring, claims that Maxwell has copies of sex tapes showing the late Epstein’s rich and powerful friends with underage victims.
According to the Daily Mail, Maxwell’s former friend, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, has claimed that Maxwell made copies of a stash of sex tapes and images that investigators found in Epstein’s Upper East Side townhouse last year.
The friend claims that Maxwell has copies of the photos and videos, which she kept as “insurance” in case she was implicated in Epstein’s sex crimes. The images are believed to show not just Epstein but his rich, powerful friends with underage girls — and the friend believes Maxwell intends to use this evidence as a “get out of jail free” card.
“Ghislaine has always been as cunning as they come. She wasn’t going to be with Epstein all those years and not have some insurance,” the friend reportedly said.
“The secret stash of sex tapes I believe Ghislaine has squirreled away could end up being her get out of jail card if the authorities are willing to trade. She has copies of everything Epstein had. They could implicate some twisted movers and shakers.”
FBI agents arrested Maxwell at a luxury hideaway in New Hampshire on Thursday, and she is reportedly being transferred to New York City, where she is set to appear in court on Friday.
Maxwell, along with Epstein, has been photographed with rich and powerful men like Prince Andrew, Duke of York; former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and current U.S. President Donald Trump. She attended Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding in New York’s Hudson Valley.
“If Ghislaine goes down, she’s going to take the whole damn lot of them with her,” the friend said.
Epstein died of an apparent suicide in a New York City jail last summer while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
