“Cult mom” Lori Vallow, who’s currently behind bars for conspiracy to destroy, alter or conceal evidence in connection with her deceased children, may soon be facing additional charges.
Fox News reports that according to Chandler, Arizona, police spokesman Sgt. Jason McClimans, authorities plan to hand their case regarding the death of Lori’s ex-husband, Charles Vallow, over to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
“I can’t confirm the exact date or timeline when the case will be sent over, but an estimate is 4-6 months,” McClimans said.
Charles Vallow died in July 2019, after his brother-in-law, Alex Cox, killed him during an altercation at a Phoenix home. He was shot several times, according to police. Cox later passed away, reportedly from natural causes.
Months after the shooting, Lori Vallow’s children, Tylee and JJ, disappeared, while Vallow married Chad Daybell.
Earlier this year, authorities found the remains of both children buried on Daybell’s Idaho property.
Daybell is currently behind bars on two felony counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, as CrimeOnline previously reported. He’s also been charged with destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence.
Investigators say that Lori Vallow had been seeking a divorce from Charles at the time of his death. She could now end up facing a conspiracy to commit murder charge.
According to CBS 2, Charles Vallow contacted police months before his death and said Lori Vallow had threatened to kill him because “a man named Nick Schneider had taken over his body.”
Charles Vallow added that Lori considered herself to be a God and a “translated being.” He reportedly said that her bizarre religious views had become increasingly worse.
“This case is a marathon, not a sprint,” Chandler Police Detective Nathan Duncan told EastIdahoNews.com. “We are conducting a very thorough investigation to determine the truth behind the murder of Charles Vallow.”
It will be up to the prosecutors to decide what charges, if any, will be filed against Lori Vallow with her ex-husband’s death.
