A pregnant Texas teen is dead and police believe her own boyfriend killed her.
The incident happened on September 11 at the Executive Inn on Highway 16 South in Graham. Texomas reports that 19-year-old Klowie Moore was staying at the hotel with her 18-year-old boyfriend, Gage Gillentine.
Graham police and Texas Rangers are investigating the “suspicious” incident. Authorities said Gillentine was in the room with Moore was shot. She later passed away from her injuries while at the Graham Regional Medical Center.
Moore was 16 weeks pregnant at the time of her death.
On Thursday, authorities arrested Gillentine and charged him with murder. He’s currently behind bars at the Young County Jail.
Moore’s mother, Debbie Moore, said her daughter was excited about having her first baby. She added that she didn’t really know Gillentine well and that her daughter had been dating him for around six months.
“He didn’t allow us to see her, that much. We talked a lot on the phone,” Debbie said.
Funeral services for Klowie were held Friday at the Country Road Fellowship in Young County. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up to cover expenses.
“She would have been an amazing mother to that baby,” the GoFundMe page read. “She wanted a baby and a family so bad.”
