Investigators have found the remains of a woman who went missing in August, and her ex-boyfriend has been arrested.
KIRO-7 reports that police found the body Kassandra Cantrell of Parkland, Washington, on Tuesday, nearly a month after she went missing on the day of an appointment for her first sonogram. She was in the early stages of pregnancy with her first child when she disappeared.
According to the report, Cantrell’s remains were found wrapped at the bottom of a cliff along Chambers Creek on Tuesday afternoon. Earlier that day, police found Cantrell’s car near the Tacoma Dome. Her mother reportedly told police Cantrell never went to that area.
Shortly after the body was discovered, SWAT Team officers arrested Cantrell’s ex-boyfriend, 37-year-old Colin Patrick Dudley, at his home in Tacoma.
According to KOMO News, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesperson Ed Troyer said on Tuesday that Dudley had been seen on surveillance video dropping off Cantrell’s car in the location where it was later found.
Dudley is in custody in Pierce County on suspicion of murder.
