Multiple people are dead in Salem, Oregon, after a reported hostage situation on Monday.
According to OregonLive.com, police were called to the 200 block of Juneva Place Southeast on Monday afternoon, where a hostage situation was underway. One of the people killed was the suspected hostage-taker, but police have not said how many others died or released any identifying information.

At least one responding deputy opened fire, but it is not clear if police fire killed the hostage, or how the others were killed.
Authorities will release more information once the families of the victims have been notified.
