Two sisters in California are the victims of an apparent murder-suicide at the hands of their father, who allegedly stabbed the girls to death before taking his own life.
Citing police sources, NBC 4 Los Angeles reports that two girls, both around the age of 9, were found dead with stab wounds at a home in Placentia Wednesday morning. The suspect, their father, was reportedly found with fatal self-inflicted stab wounds on a sidewalk outside the home.
According to multiple reports, the girl’s mother was home at the time of the slaying, as was a female relative of the father. Police sources told ABC 7 that both women were asleep at the time of the slayings and were uninjured.
Police have reportedly been to the home on multiple occasions for domestic calls. Authorities said they are not looking for any outside suspects, and have not yet publicly identified the victims or the suspect.
“My heart goes out to the family,” Placentia Police Sgt. Bryce Angel told reporters, according to ABC 7. “This is just a tragic situation for the this whole community.”
