A Georgia man is behind bars after a mother found her child’s diary that reportedly laid out disturbing details of molestation.
AJC reports that the child’s mother filed a police report against 46-year-old David Lee Kinnison, of Newnan, according to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Casey Mullis. The victim is a 10-year-old, the arrest affidavit states.
Kinnison is accused of taking the victim to another room inside his home, where he molested the child. The victim reportedly wrote out the incident in great detail in the diary entry, prompting police to question and ultimately detain Kinnison. The victim went through a forensics interview.
Kinnison made a first appearance on Monday. He’s been charged with aggravated child molestation. A kidnapping charge was added since he allegedly took the child to another room.
The Georgia Gazette reports that Kinnison was arrested earlier this year, in March, on child cruelty and battery charges. A month later, his wife filed for divorce, according to online court records.
Kinnison remains in jail without bond. The investigation is still ongoing, according to police.
