A former teacher in Pennsylvania admitted Tuesday to repeatedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old student.
Rochelle Cressman, 33, agreed to plead guilty in a Crawford County court to three counts of statutory sexual assault. State police said Cressman was a Titusville Middle School gym teacher when she initiated sexual contact with the male student, according to The Meadville Tribune.
Last year, Cressman was charged with 66 counts of statutory sexual assault for incidents state police said occurred between September 2018 and April 2019. Cressman was accused of sexually abusing the victim at her home in Oil Creek Township and at a residence in Titusville.
Prosecutors recommended a prison sentence of six to 12 years. The prosecution and defense agreed to Cressman serving 10 years of probation following her release from prison, The Tribune reported.
Cressman’s conviction classifies her as a Tier 3 sex offender — meaning she must register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for February.
