An investigation is underway in California after a snowplow driver reportedly discovered the murdered bodies of a man and woman on Monday.
The Mono County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the bodies were found off the shoulder of Highway 395, roughly 10 miles north of Bridgeport. The East Bay Times reported that a snowstorm this weekend left about six inches of snow in the Bridgeport area.
Police are not releasing the decedents’ names until next of kin are notified. Investigators did reveal that the apparent murder victims are not from Momo County or anywhere in the vicinity.
Police said their murders appear to be “specific and targeted.” They do not believe there is a threat to the public.
