A mother in North Carolina is in custody after her toddler child was found to be missing toenails and fingernails, and tested positive for drug ingestion.
According to WCTI, the unidentified 20-month-old child was brought to Vidant Medical Center in Pitt County earlier this month, and was found to be missing multiple toes and fingernails.
Authorities have not identified the child or released the toddler’s gender. It is also unknown who brought the child to the hospital.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the news station, the toddler tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine.
The child’s mother, 30-year-old Nikki Manning, has been arrested and charged with felony child abuse.
