On Wednesday, a Wisconsin man reportedly turned in $3,000 he found lying on a sidewalk.
In a Facebook post, the Wausau Police Department said the cash was found with several Christmas gift envelopes and a receipt. The unidentified citizen who discovered the $3,000 reportedly contacted police and turned in the money.
“We were then able to work with the awesome folks at Peoples State Bank to get the money returned to the proper owner and ensure Christmas wasn’t ruined after all,” police wrote.
Police said they gave the Good Samaritan a gift card to a local business “to help brighten his day” and reward him for his selfless act.
