Authorities in a southern Wisconsin county are looking for a newborn baby girl they say hasn’t been seen since the father gave her to a friend, Green County CrimeStoppers reports.
Crime Stoppers said the baby girl was born on Tuesday in the Village of Albany and carried away by a man identified as the father.
The father told investigators he gave the child to an acquaintance but didn’t tell them the third party’s name, Channel 3000 reported.
That person was reported to be driving a gray Chevrolet Equinox.
Albany Police and the Green County Sheriff’s Office have asked anyone who knows of someone with “unexplained possession of a newly born white female infant” to contact the sheriff’s office at 608-328-9400 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-7463.
“Albany residents are encouraged to search their properties and notify law enforcement of any unusual discoveries,” authorities added.
