A Long Island man is in custody after he allegedly admitting to killing his own father, who was found dead in a home with three people who were unresponsive.
NBC New York reports that first responders arrived to a home in Queens Village on Thursday to find a 72-year-old man dead of an apparent stabbing, along with three other people who were unresponsive. The deceased man was reportedly found in the bathroom, while the three unconscious victims — a 70-year-old woman, a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman — were in the living room. Those three individuals were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, but police told the news station they are all related. According to the report, a man called police early Thursday morning to say that he had killed his father. Police took a 30-year-old man at the scene into custody, though his charges are not yet known.
The unconscious victims did not have any visible sign of trauma, according to the report, and police are investigating the possibility that they may have been poisoned in inhaled toxic gas. Authorities have ordered toxicology tests.
