A 16-year-old Amish boy was killed Saturday night when his buggy was struck from behind on US 322 in northeastern Ohio.
Norman Detweiller was pronounced dead on the scene, WOIO reported.
Steven Mares, 53, was driving the Dodge Caravan that struck the buggy, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said, and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The state patrol is still investigating the crash, which took place just after 6:30 p.m. as Detweiller was guiding his buggy on the shoulder of the two-lane highway.
Drug and alcohol use were not involved, police said.
