Authorities confirmed the identity of a 2-year-old Wyoming boy found deceased Friday, hours after he was reported missing.

Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that authorities found the body of Athian Rivera in a dumpster in Cheyenne, in the 400 block of Desmet Drive. The young boy was last seen alive on Friday afternoon, in the 500 block of Desmet Drive.

According to Cheyenne PD Public Information Officer Alexandra Farkas, authorities used a reverse search on a 911 call to notify all residents within a half-mile radius from where the boy was last seen. Numerous agencies assisted in the “extensive search” for the boy.

Farkas declined to give additional specifics about the case but said that there was no threat to the community.

“This is an active investigation,” Farkas said. “There is no danger to the public.”

**UPDATE** The child was found to be deceased. This incident is still under investigation by the Cheyenne Police…
