Wyoming authorities say they suspect foul play after a 2-year-old boy was found deceased on Friday.

Oil City News reports that according to the Cheyenne Police Department spokesperson, Alexandra Farkas, foul play is suspected in the death of Athian Rivera, although no suspects have yet been named.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, authorities found Athian’s body in a dumpster at an apartment complex in Cheyenne, in the 400 block of Desmet Drive, on Friday evening. The boy was last seen alive hours earlier on Friday, in the 500 block of Desmet Drive.

So far, little has been revealed surrounding the circumstances of the incident. Authorities have not yet divulged the cause and manner of death.

“This is an active investigation,” Farkas said. “There is no danger to the public.”
