Police in Middletown, Ohio, will hold a press conference Monday to share the latest updates in the investigation of a young child’s murder.
As previously reported, 6-year-old James Hutchinson is presumed dead after his mother, 29-year-old Britney Gosney told police that she dragged her son with her car as he was clinging to her vehicle in a park in a neighboring county. Gosney reportedly told her son she was going to leave him in the park, and he tried to hang on to the car as she drove away. The mother told police she returned about 30 minutes later and found him dead in the parking lot.
She then put his body in her car and drove home, where she and her boyfriend hid James’ body overnight before dumping his body into the river.
Police are still working to recover his body. The Middletown Division of Police will stream the press conference live on the department Facebook page:
