Police immediately wen to Farrauto’s apartment, where they found her four-year-old son unconscious and unresponsive. The boy was taken to Laurence and Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
New London Police Chief Peter Reichard said investigators believe the boy was dead before police arrived.
In addition to murder, Farrauto has been charged with risk of injury to a child. She’s being held on a $1 million bond.
Reichard said an autopsy was schedule for Monday to determine cause of death.
