**FOUND SAFE**: Police in search of missing 12-year-old Maine girl

Winslow police announced Wednesday that 12-year-old Layla Cole has been safely located.

Maine authorities are searching for a 12-year-old who disappeared at some point between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

CBS 13 reports that Layla Cole was last seen at her home on Tuesday night at around 9:45 p.m., off of  Benton Ave. in Winslow. According to the child’s family, she wasn’t at home when her father checked in on her at around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Layla is described as a white female who stands 5-feet-3-inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say Layla could possibly in or headed to the Waterville area.
