Jury selection continues on Monday in the Derek Chauvin murder trial, after seven jurors were seated last week.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the jury selection hid the mid-way point on Friday; as 12 jurors and two alternates will be selected, for a total of 14.
On Thursday, Judge Peter Cahill reinstated a third-degree murder count against Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who is also facing second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges in the May 2020 death of George Floyd.
Floyd, who was unarmed, died after Chauvin knelt on his neck for several minutes during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill at a grocery store.
