At least six people were shot, one fatally, Thursday afternoon at a cabinet manufacturing facility in east Texas, and police have taken a suspect into custody.
Bryan police told KBTX that officers were called to Kent Moore Cabinets at about 2:30 p.m.. They found one person dead on the scene and transported four more to St Joseph Health Regional Hospital in critical condition. Another person was also shot and was in non-critical condition.
The suspect had left the property by the time police arrived but was taken into custody in neighboring Grimes County, Sheriff Don Sowell told ABC13.
Bryan Police Chief Eric Buske told KBTX the suspect is believed to be an employee but otherwise had no information about a motive.
Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, including Bryan, College Station, and Texas A&M police, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Bryan is about 100 miles northwest of Houston.
