Louisiana authorities are investigating after a 2-year-old boy apparently died in a hot car on Monday.
According to KATC, Iberia Parish police responded to a call about a toddler being left in a vehicle for an extended period of time. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased child has not publicly identified. Temperatures in Iberia Parish on Monday reached temperatures of 93 degrees, per reports.
According to No Heat Stroke, the unidentified Louisiana toddler is the fourth child to die in a hot car this year. In 2020, 24 children died of vehicular heatstroke, compared to 53 in 2019.
