DEVELOPING: ‘Extremely dangerous’ suspect fires at Georgia deputies

Deputies in north Georgia are searching for an “extremely dangerous” man who has fled from his vehicle into woods in Lumpkin County and has been shooting at officers.

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Gerardo “Jerry” Jonathan Flowers and said the Georgia State Patrol is assisting in the search with aviation and tracking dogs on the ground.

WSB reported that Flowers is wanted in Lumpkin, Hall and Habersham counties.

The sheriff’s office asked people who live in the Mt Olive Church Road area to “lock up your property and call 911 if you see anyone entering your property.” All others should avoid the area.
