A Texas man told police he had engaged in “inappropriate sexual contact of his daughter” for a considerable length of time, both in the San Antonio suburb of Live Oak and in the state of Washington, where they lived before moving to Texas.
Live Oak police were tipped to the possible abuse by the victim’s mother, MySanAntonio.com reported. She said she believe the child’s father had been sexually abusing her.
Investigators began looking into the allegation and found video evidence, captured on a camera in the home.
Myron Mathews reportedly voluntarily confessed, according to Live Oak Police Lt Matt Malone.
Mathews reportedly admitted he had abused his daughter, whose age was not released, on several occasions for his own sexual gratification.
He is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and super-aggravated sexual assault of a child, both felonies.
