Texas authorities found a deceased man Friday after a caller from New York provided cellphone GPS coordinates to police.
According to the sheriff Oscar Rivera of San Patricio County, Texas, the caller told San Patricio police that their nephew was in the area and had passed away from an illness. The caller then gave police the man’s GPS cellphone coordinates.
Authorities followed the lead and found an 18-year-old male’s lifeless body near Mathis. The victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released.
Rivera said that around two weeks prior, someone called a woman’s family members in Alabama and gave them the victim’s GPS coordinates. Police later found the missing woman deceased.
The woman’s identity and cause of death are also currently unknown at this time.
