Two California toddler brothers who disappeared under mysterious circumstances last December remain missing nine months later.
Orson and Orrin West were reported missing on December 21, 2020, by Trezell and Jaqueline West, the boys’ adoptive parents.
Trezell West said at the time that the boys were in the backyard playing and that he accidentally left a gate open while gathering wood, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
But the Wests have made no further comments about the case.
Orson and Orrin’s biological family, meanwhile, has held monthly prayer gatherings at different locations for the boys.
“We are just showing our presence to let them know that we are keeping the awareness out there. No protest, it’s a prayer, it’s peaceful,” Rosanna Wills, the boys’ biological cousin, told KGET. “We pray for everyone – the police department that is on the case, keep them in prayer. We just hope someone will come forward.”
The family says they will continue the prayers until the boys they know as Cincere and Classic are found.
“Unfortunately, we are not unfamiliar with missing children in Bakersfield, so it’s something that we will continue to investigate until we come to the truth of these circumstances,” Bakersfield Police Sergeant Robert Pair said. “We are not dealing with adults. It’s not like the national events where adults tend to leave bigger digital and life footprints.”
The boys were living in California City at the time of their disappearance, but Bakersfield police are heading the investigation and said last March they had executed more than 20 search warrants in the case, including at the home of their adoptive grandparents. Police have said they suspect foul play.
“I just can’t wait for when the boys get some justice or just that they are either found alive – and if they aren’t, we just pray for justice and closure,” Wills said.
A reward for information leading to the boys has reached $125,000. Anyone with information on the boys or their disappearance is asked to call the Kern Secret Witness hotline at 661-322-4040.
