Florida authorities are searching for a man who reportedly broke into a Holiday home on Thursday and stayed around 20 minutes before leaving.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, an unknown man who appeared to be between 40-60 years of age broke into a home off of Flora Avenue, via a door near the garage. The incident was captured on security camera and showed the stranger walk toward a child’s room, leave the room and undo his pants, then walk back into the room.
Homeowner Jacqueline Eisinga told News Channel 8 that she woke up and immediately sensed something was off.
“I turned and saw my daughter’s door open and I was like, no, no, no, her room is never open,” Eisinga said.
Eisinga started screaming when she saw the suspect walk out of her daughter’s room, prompting him to flee the residence. She then woke her husband up to help as her dogs began barking at the intruder, but the suspect was long gone.
“The person literally ran. Like, I watched him run right past,” Eisinga told the outlet.
Luckily, Eisinga’s 9-year-old girl didn’t wake up during the ordeal.
“You can’t get what could have happened out of your head,” Eisinga told Fox News. “All you think about is I’m so grateful that this is all it was. I mean, that’s horrible to say because it’s still bad. But my daughter could have been taken. My daughter could have been assaulted. It could have been so much worse.”
According to police, the suspect has short hair and appears to stand between 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-10-inches. He was wearing black-rimmed glasses, a light Polo-type shirt and khaki shorts.
