Prosecutors say a young mother searched online for ways to “get rid” of her baby weeks before the infant’s death.
As WGN-9 reports, Joslynn Graham is accused of killing her five-month-old daughter earlier this month in Fulton County, Illinois. The child, Emery Lyons, reportedly died of blunt-force trauma on October 7. According to WEEK 25, an autopsy found that the infant had bruising on her head and face.
At Graham’s bond hearing on Tuesday, prosecutors said that she had performed internet searches for the phrase “ways to get rid of your child.” Prosecutors also claimed that a witness said Graham had “expressed frustration with the child,” WEEK 25 reports.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances of the infant’s death. A public defender reportedly said that Graham is expected to enter a plea of not guilty.
Graham is currently being held on $1 million bond. She is due in court for another hearing on Thursday.
