A Florida resident has been in contact with the FBI about surveillance footage of a man resembling Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie.
As TMZ reports, a witness spotted a man resembling Laundrie on surveillance footage taken at their property in Dunnellon, Florida, about three hours of North Port, where Laundrie’s parents live. The video shows a man struggling to ride a bicycle on what TMZ described as a sugar sand path not frequently traveled. The man in the video, reportedly captured on October 9, is cycling at a rapid speed before he gets off the bicycle, apparently struggling with the terrain.
The report notes that the man is wearing a large backpack and heavy clothing as he speeds down the rural trail. The property owner reportedly submitted the video to the FBI. Authorities have not publicly commented on whether the footage is being evaluated in connection to the search for Laundrie.
The 23-year-old has been missing for over a month. Laundrie was named a person of interest in the disappearance of his girlfriend Gabby Petito, who was found dead in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest on September 19. A medical examiner determined that Petito, 22, died of manual strangulation, and likely died three to four weeks before her body was found. The couple had been on a cross-country road trip this summer when Petito fell out of contact with her family.
Laundie has not yet been named a suspect in Petito’s homicide. He is the subject of a federal warrant charging him with unauthorized use of another person’s financial account in late August and early September.
