The former NFL player seen on home surveillance video beating the mother of his child has been arrested, and the alleged victim has spoken out.
The New York Post reports that former New York Jets linebacker Zac Stacy was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly attacked his former partner while his 5-month-old son was just feet away. According to the report, Stacy has been charged with criminal mischief and aggravated assault.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, video released earlier this week appears to show Stacy throwing his ex-girlfriend Kristin Evans into a television at her Florida home on Saturday.
Stacy allegedly “struck [her] on the right side of her head, and picked her up and threw her against the television, causing it to crack and fall over,” according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the New York Post.
“He continued yelling at her and striking her while she got up from the floor, and picked her up again and threw her into the baby’s bouncy chair … While she was still on the floor pleading for him to stop, he picked her up and body-slammed her onto a baby walker, causing the object to break,” the affidavit read.
Evans told Fox News that Stacy had been violent in the past, but that the incident this week made her fear for her life.
“This was just the last straw I would say. I really truly feel that if it continues that he would kill me,” Evans said.
Evans claimed that the alleged abuse escalated after she gave birth to their son.
“He feels justified in his actions. There’s nothing that anyone could do to justify something like that,” she said.
According to the New York Post, Stacy had left Florida after the alleged attack but authorities tracked him down. It is unclear exactly where Stacy was arrested.
