Original story:
The suspect accused of killing 24-year-old Brianna Kupfer has reportedly been arrested, less than a day after police publicly identified him.
Citing Kupfer’s father, Fox LA reports that police in Pasadena apprehended Shawn Laval Smith, 31, just before noon local time on Wednesday. Law enforcement officials have not yet announced the arrest.
Kupfer was working at a high-end furniture store on Wednesday when Smith allegedly entered the business and stabbed her to death, apparently a short time after Kupfer texted a friend that someone in the store was giving her a “bad vibe.”
Smith was reportedly arrested at a bus station in Pasadena. The LAPD had said in an advisory on Tuesday night that Smith was likely to be using public transportation.
