Alabama police have obtained capital murder warrants for John Peyton Scott III, accusing him of killing his girlfriend and her father in Helena.
Sharon Tarwater Whited, 40, and Chester E. Tarwater Jr, 75, were found dead in their home on Wednesday, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
Scott, who also reportedly lived in the residence, was initially named a person of interest in the deaths of Whited and Tarwater, and has not been located.
Tarwater’s 12-year-old grandson found his grandfather unresponsive in the home and ran to a neighbor’s with his grandmother, who suffers from dementia, to call for help. First responders found Tarwater in a hallway and his daughter in another part of the house.
The grandmother was not harmed. Whited’s two daughters were not at home at the time of the incident; she has also helped care for her nephews since the death of her brother.
WBRC reported that police named him the suspect and secured the warrants on Sunday.
Helena police say that Scott is likely armed and dangerous and ask anyone with information to call 205-663-6499.
