A Michigan man was arrested on Wednesday after he was found in a motel with three underage girls.
The girls, all teens, had been reported missing from Florida, WOOD reported.
Police in Fruitport Township, where the girls were found, took the girls into protective custody, according to Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Tim Maat, who said that two of the parents are en route to Michigan to pick up the girls.
Maat said the suspect was in his mid-20s.
According to WZZM, the mother of one of the girls said that her daughter and a friend were seen getting into a car with another girl and man. The man was a stranger, she said.
Maat told WZZM that the suspect could face charges in both Michigan and Florida.
MLive reported that the youngest of the girls was 14 and that Maat said there were “no allegations of force being used or abduction.” But, he said, the girls were all minors, making the man’s actions illegal.
The names of the victims and the suspect have not been released.
