A Mississippi man shot and killed himself in the drive-thru of a Clinton Chick-fil-A restaurant Friday night when he got into an argument with a backseat passenger and pulled out a gun.
Clinton police said that Kendarius Vaughn, 23, was driving when he and the passenger began arguing over the order, WLBT reported.
Vaughn pulled out a handgun, police said, waved it around before swinging it to the backseat.
Vaughn’s brother, also in the backseat, grabbed Vaughn’s arm and pushed it back into the front seat, but somehow Vaughn pulled the trigger and shot himself.
The backseat passenger climbed into the driver’s seat and drove Vaughn to the hospital, where he died.
Clinton Police Chief Ford Hayman told WAPT it didn’t appear the shooting was intentional.
“Whatever they were doing in the car, the intended consequence was not for someone to get shot, but we are going through all the evidence,” he said.
