A Florida man allegedly shot and killed his two children before turning the gun on himself in a suburb of Miami, Florida, on Tuesday.

As WSVN, the unidentified man is believed to have fatally shot his 12-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son before taking his own life at an apartment complex near a Publix supermarket in Miami Lakes. According to the report, the children’s mother was present at the scene but she was unharmed. It is unclear from initial reports exactly where each family member was during the shootings, but at least one of the bodies was reportedly found inside an apartment.

Witnesses who were shopping at the nearby Publix reportedly noticed a large police presence at the apartment complex. One witness told WSVN that he saw the grieving mother being comforted by responders.

Police reportedly believe the apparent murder-suicide stemmed from a domestic incident, but a motive is not yet known. It is unclear if there were previous domestic calls at the home.
