A robbery suspect is dead after a homeowner shot the man as he was allegdly attempting to break in to the Philadelphia resident’s vehicle.
As Fox 29 News reports, the homeowner noticed the tresspasser Wednesday in his West Philadelphia yard, who allegedly broke a window of the homeowner’s SUV by throwing a brick through it. The 49-year-old homeowner, who is believed to have a legal permit for a firearm, reportedly told police that he shot the suspect multiple times. The injured suspect then ran a few blocks before collapsing.
First responders found the 23-year-old man with multiple bullet wounds in his chest and torso area. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
The trespassing suspect is reportedly known to police. According to Fox 29 News, the deceased man’s last known address is only about two blocks from where he was fatally shot. The report also notes that 911 dispatchers recieved multiple reports of trespassing on the evening of the fatal incident.
