Police in Denver have opened a homicide investigation after a teen girl was found dead in an alley.
According to The Denver Channel, police responded to a call of a girl on the ground on Saturday afternoon in the Lowry neighborhood. Responding officers found an unresponsive 17-year-old girl who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity. According to the report, police indicated the death is criminal in nature.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death and will release the girl’s identity at an unspecified time in the future.
It is not yet known if a suspect or suspects have been identified.
The report indicates that a $2,000 reward may be available.
