A Massachusetts man has been charged in the stabbing death of his father and an attack on his mother Monday night.
Thomas Tully, 22, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of murder, assault and batter with a deadly weapon, and assault and battery, according to WFXT.
Emergency workers rushed Michael Tully, 58, to Salem Hospital after the attack, but he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
In addition to killing his father, Thomas Tully is also accused of assaulting his mother with a knife. She was not seriously hurt.
Details of the attack were not available because a judge, at the district attorney’s request, impounded the case file while it’s still under investigation.
WCVB reported that investigators were seen inside the Tully home, behind it, and behind another home two doors down. The station reported that there was no active abuse prevention order on file at the time of the incident.
Thomas Tully was ordered held without bail during Tuesday’s arraignment and is due back in court on May 31.
