Comedian Andy Dick was arrested Wednesday at a California campground for an alleged sexual assault.
Orange County authorities said a man reported he was sexually assaulted by Dick. The alleged victim was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
CBS News reported that Dick had been living at a campground at O’Neill Regional Park with a group of livestreamers in RVs. The arrest was reportedly captured on video.
The New York Post reported that the victim was one of the livestreamers named “JJ” who reportedly slept in Dick’s bed. When he woke up, he told another livestreamer, “I smelled parts of myself and they smell like artificial smells.”
JJ later takes his livestream camera into Dick’s room, where the comedian accuses him of stealing his cocaine. JJ asks him “why did you assault me in my sleep?” and Dick denies that he did.
The Post reported that deputies were aware the arrest was livestreamed; it’s unclear if they’re aware of some of the other portions of the recordings.
Dick was remanded to custody with a $25,000 bond, according to CBS.
