A 13-year-old Oregon girl was found dead on Tuesday, a day after her mother reported her missing.
According to The Oregonian, Milana Li’s body was found in a small stream at the Westside Regional Trail, less than a mile from where she was last seen on Monday. After Li reportedly vanished from her family’s apartment, her mother told Beaverton police that the girl had a cell phone, but it is probably turned off.
The Oregonian reported that police initially classified Li as a runaway. Her mother told police that the teen was unfamiliar with public transportation in the area.
Authorities have not revealed how Li died, but Beaverton police said she was found dead under “suspicious circumstances.”
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Beaverton police Detective Cindy Herring at 503-526-2280.
