New York Police are questioning two people after a 9-year-old girl was found dead in a Brooklyn apartment Sunday afternoon.
WABC reported that the girl was pronounced dead on the scene and had trauma to her head and neck.
According to the New York Daily News, police responded to a 911 call from the mother. Later on Sunday, the paper said, police took two dogs out of the apartment in cages.
The girl, who has not been named, lived in an apartment with her mother and a younger sister, according to the owner of a restaurant below the apartment.
Memphis Seoul owner Bart Hubbuch told the New York Post that the girls were “very well mannered,” but the mother “was a nightmare” who “was always screaming at them.”
“It’s a sad situation,” he said. “The cops even themselves were emotional about it.”
