Security footage was played in court Tuesday that showed actor James Franco and defendant Amber Heard cuddling in an elevator.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Depp and Heard are currently in a multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit battle after Depp sued her for allegedly publishing lies about him in a 2018 op-ed piece published in The Washington Post, where she referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”
Shown in court Tuesday was a video of actor James Franco visiting Amber Heard the day before she filed for divorce from Depp. He was spotted in one of the several penthouses Depp owns in the downtown Los Angeles area.
On May 22, 2016, the video captured Franco and Heard inside an elevator while going up to Heard’s penthouse at close to 11 p.m. The video also showed the pair leaning on each and cuddling each other before arriving at Heard’s floor and exiting the elevator.
Court documents indicate that Heard filed for divorce on May 23, 2016.
Earlier this month, Heard testified that Depp kicked her in the back while they were traveling by plane eight years ago, from Los Angeles to Boston. According to Heard, witnesses were present when Depp accused her of having an affair with Franco. Heard and Franco worked together on the 2008 film, “Pineapple Express.”
“He was mad at me for taking the job with James Franco,” Heard testified. “He hated, hated James Franco and he was already accusing me of kind of secretly having a thing with him in my past because we had done Pineapple Express together.”
Also heard in court was a secret recording made by Depp in an apparent argument with Heard. The defendant allegedly called Depp’s career a “joke” and threw foul words at him.
“Suck my d**k, suck my d**k,” Heard reportedly told Depp in a recorded conversation. “You’re a f***ing kid yourself; I wish I hadn’t bought into any of the lies you sold.”
Depp then called Heard a “spoiled f***ing brat.”
“Your jealously is so tragic,” Depp added, according to the recording.
Closing arguments are expected to begin on May 27. Check back for updates.
