California authorities are not pursuing a sexual battery case against comedian Andy Dick, who was arrested earlier this month for allegedly assaulting a man at a campground.
Orange County Sheriff’s Sergeant Scott Steinle told NBC that they are not moving forward in this case as the accuser stopped cooperating. Dick, 56, was arrested on May 11 after a man reported being sexually assaulted at O’Neill Regional Park.
Steinle said investigators contacted the man for additional information but he was no longer willing to cooperate. The case will be deactivated without the man’s statements, according to the sheriff.
A live stream reportedly showed Dick being arrested at the campground earlier this month. The comedian, who was released on bond, has denied the allegations — with his attorney calling the case “totally bogus.”
