Arkansas police recently arrested a couple, finding that the man — a convicted sex offender — raped a child and his wife allowed it.
On June 13, the 9-year-old girl told authorities that Chad Huckabee, 39, was sexually assaulting her when his wife, Lori Huckabee, 38, walked into the room and told him to stop. The husband stopped but his wife never reported the crime, according to KAIT.
The girl was reportedly in the couple’s care when the rape occurred. In a separate instance, Lori was allegedly in bed with her husband when he sexually assaulted the girl. Once again, Lori told her husband to stop but she did not report it to authorities, according to KTLO.
State records indicate that Chad is a level-two sex offender with a conviction for indecent liberties with a child.
Chad is charged with rape, while his wife is charged with permitting the abuse of a minor. The husband and wife remain jailed on bonds of $200,000 and $100,000, respectively.
